Providing a unique experience, the program goes beyond technique, with details, concepts and fundamentals.
Born July 14, 1978, Rolles Gracie has fought in the UFC and ONE FC. He won silver at the 2007 ADCC World Championships in his weight division, and his titles in competitive BJJ include three IBJJF Pan wins. He is the eldest son of the legendary Rolls Gracie.
Instead of stretching his opponent's arm, as in the traditional armbar from closed guard, Renzo teaches an attack on the flexed arm in the moment his opponent tries to pull back his arm and close up defensively.
Instructor Rolles Gracie explains how to break one of your opponent's grips, weakening their base and posture. That is how Rolles opens up the way to attack with the classic armbar mechanic starting from the closed guard.
Continuing with the position taught in Video 1, Rolles shows an alternative in case your opponent foils the armbar, pushing their own weight down in an attempt to squeeze the guard player. Rolles finds space and support points to spin underneath and, at the end of the motion, go through with the armbar.
